From August 9 to August 13, 2023, the company completed the external insulation test of 1000kV UHV composite jacket arrester at high altitude (4300 meters above sea level) for the first time at the high altitude test base of State Grid Corporation of China.
In view of the characteristics of high altitude areas, the company has carried out research on the external insulation test method of lightning arresters in high altitude areas, and has formulated a detailed test plan.
The external insulation test items of 1000kV UHV lightning arrester include power frequency wet withstand voltage (effective value) 1100kV, lasting for 1 minute; Operating impulse wet withstand voltage (peak value) 1800kV, positive and negative polarity 15 times respectively; Lightning impulse withstand voltage (peak value) 2400kV, positive and negative polarity 15 times respectively. The 1000kV UHV lightning arrester developed by the company successfully passed all test items, at the same time, in order to meet the task requirements of scientific research projects, the corona test of the lightning arrester pressure ring and the corona test of the lightning arrester under the power frequency wet withstand voltage are also carried out.
The "Tibet-China Million Volt Project Commando" formed by the company overcame the influence of the high-altitude climate on the site, worked overtime to avoid the influence of external factors such as on-site electrical installation and construction and rain, and successfully completed the on-site insulation test of 1000kV UHV arrester.
The test results prove that the external insulation design of the high-altitude UHV composite jacket arrester can meet the external insulation requirements of 4300 meters above sea level, and the test results are better than the external insulation requirements of the Sichuan-Chongqing UHV Project Ganzi Station (3500 meters above sea level). The success of this test is of far-reaching significance to the advancement of the world's UHV projects.
